Allen gave up a single goal on 20 shots after replacing Brian Elliott in the Blues win over the Hurricanes on Saturday. He has lost each of his last three starts while allowing a combined 12 goals, but a strong outing on Saturday and a great matchup tonight should help get him back on track. He made 13 saves in a 4-3 OT win in his first start against Edmonton.

Bernier allowed five goals on 25 shots in the Maple Leafs 6-2 loss to the Capitals on Wednesday. He is 0-2-0 with a 4.08 GAA and .852 SV% in his first two starts in 2015. He will look to get into the win column tonight vs. Columbus—he made 28 saves in a 4-1 win in his first start vs. the Blue Jackets.

Bernier allowed three goals on 29 shots in the Maple Leafs loss to the Wild last Friday. The loss snapped Bernier’s brief two game winning streak and moved him to 15-9-3 on the year. Tonight he will make his second start of the year vs. the Capitals—he made 35 saves in a 6-2 win in late November.

Bernier allowed three goals on 28 shots in the Maple Leafs shootout win over the Bruins on Wednesday. He finished December at 7-3-0 with a2.74 GAA and .925 SV%. He starts 2015 with a nice matchup as he gets set to face a Wild team who have lost six of their last seven games.

Bernier, who was scratched yesterday due to an illness, joined the team in Tampa Bay, but is not skating this morning which is not a good sign for his availability tonight. James Reimer, who started last night is also not participating in the optional, so look for him to get the call vs. the Lightning.

Bernier was yanked after he allowed seven goals on 43 shots in the Leafs 7-4 loss the Flyers on Saturday. It was an ugly night, which is why he got Sunday off, but he will look to rebound tonight in Dallas. Bernier has gone 2-1-3 with a 2.34 GAA and .927 SV% in six starts on the road this season.

The loss snapped a three-game winning streak for Allen, who is now 11-3-2 with a 2.49 GAA and .907 SV% in 16 starts this season. Tonight, he will face the Avs’ for the second time this season—he stopped 23 shots in a 3-2 OT win in Colorado 10 days ago.

Palat said that he had his “best day yet” on Thursday. He has missed the last four games, but could be back in tomorrow. He skated on the second line with Valtteri Filppula and Nikita Kucherov today, because Tyler Johnson missed practice with an illness.
