Allen starts vs. Edmonton.

Allen stopped 15 of 17 shots in relief of the injured Brian Elliott in Tuesday’s shootout loss to the Senators. With Elliott out for at least a few weeks, the crease is all Allen’s for the foreseeable future. He has a 2.12 GAA and .920 SV% in nine games and is a must-start tonight vs. the struggling Oilers.

Allen starts vs. the Jets.

Allen allowed four goals on 30 shots in the Blues’ 4-1 loss to Montreal on Thursday. The loss snapped Allen’s four-game winning streak, but he should be for great spot-start this afternoon in Winnipeg. Allen is 2-1-0 with a 1.67 GAA and .938 SV% on the road.

Bernier leads the Leafs onto the ice for warmups.

Bernier is not on the ice for the Maple Leafs morning skate, which suggests he will start tonight vs. Detroit. He had a nice bounce-back game on Thursday, stopping 26 of 28 shots in a 5-2 win over the Lightning. It has been a crazy up-and-down first quarter of the season for Bernier, but he was great in his first outing vs. the Wings—he stopped 31 of 32 shots in a 1-0 OT loss.

Dillon is expected to make his Sharks debut on Saturday.

Dillon was acquired from the Stars on Friday and despite his equipment not making it to San Jose this morning, he is expected to play tonight vs. the Coyotes. Dillon’s defence partner will likely be fluid for a while until the coaches can decide where he fits best.

The Sharks have acquired Brenden Dillon from Dallas for Jason Demers and a 2016 third round pick.

Dillon, 24, is a big-boy at 6-foot-3, 225 lbs. and bring some size and physicality to the Sharks blueline. Demers is a better puck-moving defenseman, but Dillon is two years younger and the Sharks have a number of young offensive blueliners in their system. Dillon will be a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

Bernier is expected to get the nod for the Maple Leafs.

Bernier did not take part in the Maple Leafs’ optional morning skate which suggests he will get the nod tonight vs. Tampa Bay. He was yanked on Tuesday after giving up three goals on 12 shots in the Leafs’ embarrassing 9-2 loss to Nashville. It won’t be easy for him to bounce back with the Lightning’s hot offence in town.

Bernier allowed three goals on 34 shots in the Maple Leafs shootout loss to the Avalanche on Thursday. It has been an OK start to the year for Bernier, who has a 2.59 GAA and .916 SV%, but just three wins to show for it. He will face the Rangers tonight—he stopped 11 of 12 shots in a 6-3 win after replacing an injured James Reimer on October 12th.

Allen stopped all 26 shots that he faced in the Blues 1-0 win over the Devils on Tuesday. He has stopped all 50 of the shots that he has faced in his last two starts and should make for a good start tonight as he takes on the Devils again, this time in St. Louis.
