The NHL waiver wire saw a pair of transactions Wednesday, reports PuckPedia.

In Boston, the Bruins placed defenseman Ian Mitchell on waivers. Through 15 appearances with the Bruins this season, the 26-year-old native of St. Albert, Alta., posted one point coupled with two penalty minutes and a minus-two rating while averaging more than 15 minutes of time on ice per game. The majority of Mitchell’s playing time this season came with the AHL affiliated Providence Bruins where in 46 outings he scored four times and added 23 assists for 27 points alongside 16 penalty minutes and a plus-11 rating.

Originally chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft, Mitchell has totaled 110 career contests with the Blackhawks and Bruins in which he has notched four goals and 15 assists for 19 points. The veteran blue-liner has also seen 155 games over five seasons at the AHL level where he has registered 23 goals and 70 assists for 93 points.

Per PuckPedia, Mitchell is on a one-year contract that carries a $775,000 annual average value and is eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer.

In San Jose, the Sharks have waived defenseman Lucas Carlsson following 12 appearances this season in which he scored once and added three assists for four points with 14 penalty minutes. Carlsson also saw 44 games with the minor-league San Jose Barracuda in which he registered 23 points counting 10 goals and 13 assists.

A 2016 fourth-round selection by the Blackhawks, the 27-year-old rearguard has totaled 72 NHL games between the Blackhawks, Florida Panthers, and Sharks in which he has collected four goals and 11 assists for 15 points. Carlsson has also added 63 goals and 130 assists for 193 points over seven seasons and 300 career contests in the AHL.

According to PuckPedia, Carlsson is in the first year of a two-year pact that has an $800,000 annual average value.
