Letang (illness) is listed as a scratch on the official roster report for Friday's game in Buffalo.

Letang was a surprise scratch for Friday night's game with the team not announcing his absence prior to the official roster report being finalized. We should get an update on his status ahead of Pittsburgh's game in Washington on Saturday.

Luukkonen will start against the Penguins on Friday.

The Sabres will roll with Luukkonen between the pipes for a fifth straight game on Friday when they host the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 25-year-old Luukkonen has played well lately, posting a .911 SV% in his previous nine games (6-2-1). Edmonton has signed John Klingberg to a one-year, $1 million (pro-rated) contract.

Klingberg hasn't played since undergoing hip surgery over a year ago after a brief 14-game stint with the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he scored five points (0G / 5A). The 32-year-old Klingberg isn't far removed from being one of the league's elite powerplay quarterbacks. He scored a career-high 67 points (8G / 59A) in 82 games with the Dallas Stars in the 2017-18 season. However, his production has dipped significantly in recent years, tallying only 85 points (16G / 69A) and a -60 plus/minus in his 155 most recent games. Given Evan Bouchard's dominance on Edmonton's top powerplay unit, it's unlikely that Klingberg will find himself in that position. Yet, he could still see an uptick in production considering the star power of his surrounding cast.

Lycksell played three straight before being a healthy scratch on Thursday but will return to the lineup on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. The 25-year-old Lycksell has spent most of the season in the AHL, tallying 24 points (9G / 15A) in 25 games with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.

The 32-year-old Miller was averaging 13:58 time-on-ice and had eight points (2G / 6A) in 34 games before his injury.

Colin Miller
Kaprizov (lower-body) will not travel on Minnesota's upcoming road trip despite skating on Friday.

Kaprizov has returned to the ice, practicing in a limited capacity, but will miss his 11th straight game on Saturday. He is still considered day-to-day, but updates have been few and far between regarding his status. Before his injury, the 27-year-old Kaprizov was having an excellent campaign among the league leaders, scoring 50 points (23G / 27A) in 34 games.

Kirill Kaprizov
Fleury will start in Nashville on Saturday.

Minnesota has not been as dominant as they were at the start of the season, partly due to key injuries, losing three of their last four games (1-3-0). Their one win came with Fleury between the pipes when he saved 36 of 37 shots (.973 SV%) in a 3-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks. The veteran netminder has a 2.54 GAA and .910 SV% in 14 games this season (9-3-1).

Marc-Andre Fleury
