The Boston Fleet announced Wednesday they signed forward<a href="https://www.thepwhl.com/en/news/2025/august/13/boston-signs-second-round-pick-ella-huber"> Ella Huber to a two-year contract</a> that will keep her with the club through the 2026-27 season.

Huber, the Fleet’s second-round pick from this past spring, is the first player from Boston’s 2025 draft class to sign with the club. 



“I’m beyond excited to officially be a part of the Boston organization and to call this incredible city home,” <a href="https://www.thepwhl.com/en/news/2025/august/13/boston-signs-second-round-pick-ella-huber">said Huber in a team press release</a>. “It’s an amazing group, and I’m looking forward to getting started and building something special here with the Fleet.”



Huber spent four seasons playing NCAA hockey at the University of Minnesota. In 156 career games, she scored 52 goals and 88 assists for 140 points, including a career-high 48 points (15 goals and 33 assists) in 42 games as team captain in her senior year. <div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="170"></div>



“We are thrilled to lock in Ella Huber here in Boston,” said Fleet General Manager Danielle Marmer. “She’s an incredible skater with great speed and was a highly productive player during her time in Minnesota. She’s played down the middle but can easily shift to the wing, especially with the pace she brings. Ella is the type of player who can slot anywhere in the lineup, contribute on both ends of the ice, and isn’t afraid to block shots or kill penalties. We expect her to play a pivotal role in our offense.”



Internationally, Huber, a native of Northfield, Ill., represented the U.S. at the 2020 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship, as well as the 2018 and 2019 U-18 series against Canada. 



The Fleet recorded a 9-6-5-10 record with 44 points in 2024-25, finishing fifth in the league and missing the playoffs for the first time in franchise history.<div class="injected-ad" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="1" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="150"></div>
