<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/buffalo-sabres/line-combinations">Buffalo Sabres</a> <a href="https://www.nhl.com/sabres/news/buffalo-sabres-devon-levi-restricted-free-agent-contract-rochester-americans-amerks">announced</a> Thursday that the club has signed goaltender Devon Levi to a two-year contract extension worth $812,500 per season.</p>



<p>Through 42 appearances last season with the AHL affiliated Rochester Americans, Levi went 25-13-4 with a .919 save percentage, 2.20 goals-against average, and seven shutouts. Levi also saw nine showings with the Sabres in which he found the win column two times coupled with an .872 save percentage and 4.12 goals-against average.</p>



<p>Originally chosen by the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/florida-panthers/line-combinations">Florida Panthers</a> in the seventh round of the 2020 NHL Draft, the Sabres acquired Levi the following year, alongside a 2022 first-round draft choice, in exchange for forward Sam Reinhart.</p>



<p>In all, through 39 career appearances with the Sabres, Levi stands 17-17-2 with an .894 save percentage and 3.29 goals-against average. Levi has also totaled 68 games over two seasons at the AHL in which he has posted a 41-19-10 mark with a .922 save percentage, 2.28 goals-against average, and seven shutouts.</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="160"></div>



<p>Prior to joining the pro ranks, Levi spent two seasons with the NCAA’s Northeastern Huskies where he was twice recognized as Hockey East’s Goaltender of the Year after compiling a 38-22-6 record with a .942 save percentage, 1.90 goals-against average, and 16 shutouts.</p>



<p>A 23-year-old native of Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Que., Levi joined Canada at the 2021 World Juniors where through seven appearances he went 6-1-0 while posting a .964 save percentage, 0.75 goals-against average, and three shutouts. Levi’s performance helped guide Canada to a silver-medal finish and saw him recognized as the tournament’s top goaltender.</p>



<p>With the signing, Levi becomes one of five goaltenders under contract with the Sabres for the coming campaign, joining starter Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, veteran backup Alex Lyon, plus farmhands Topias Leinonen and Scott Ratzlaff, according to <a href="https://puckpedia.com/team/buffalo-sabres">PuckPedia</a>.</p>
