<p>With the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/st-louis-blues/line-combinations">St. Louis Blues</a> surging and the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/minnesota-wild/line-combinations">Minnesota Wild </a>maintaining their spot in the Western Conference Wild Card race, it looks like the <a href="https://flamesnation.ca/">Calgary Flames</a> and <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/">Vancouver Canucks</a> will fail to qualify for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. </p>



<p>While the season was promising for a rebuilding Flames group that saw the emergence of rookie goalie Dustin Wolf, the Canucks’ season was filled with drama and underwhelming performances. </p>



<p>On Thursday’s episode of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq05p5LIoUk&amp;list=PLU--hi_aUxND5Fg4rwT2c__Yr9zPNiNNm"><em>Daily Faceoff LIVE</em></a>, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk play the overreaction game and ask the question: will the Flames make the playoffs more in the next five years than the Canucks?</p>



<p><strong>Tyler Yaremchuk</strong>: In the Pacific Division, the Calgary Flames and the emergence of Dustin Wolf has people viewing them a bit different going forward. With the Canucks, after their great season last year, on a downturn, how much of an overreaction is this sentence: the Flames will have more playoff appearances in the next five years than the Canucsk?</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="164"></div>



<p><strong>Frank Seravalli</strong>: I think it’s probably … I’m gonna say it’s a 5 – not an overreaction, not an underreaction. This is the tough part, because I really like where the Flames are heading, and I think they’ve done a really nice job drafting. I love Dustin Wolf. </p>



<p>At the same time, I don’t like where the Canucks are trending, and I think they’ve got a lot to figure out. They’ve got some serious and significant holes. However, they’re starting with Quinn Hughes, who is a top-10 player in the world. We’re not really sure what Elias Pettersson is, or if Thatcher Demko is healthy, plus they’ve got a great coaching staff, at least if they stay there. There’s a lot of question marks. </p>



<p>Could I see the Canucks back in the playoffs next season? Yes I could, but I have a harder time projecting what four years from now looks for Vancouver. </p><div class="injected-ad" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="1" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="156"></div>
