<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/vancouver-canucks/news">Vancouver Canucks </a>stood down on making moves on NHL Trade Deadline Day.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Despite rumors swirling about several players, most notably right winger Brock Boeser, who has an expiring contract, General Manager Patrik Allvin opted not to shift his team.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Instead, he kept the roster which sits third in the Western Conference Wild Card standings, one point behind the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/calgary-flames/news">Calgary Flames</a> for the final Stanley Cup Playoff spot.&nbsp;</p>



<p>There were calls on Boeser, though – just none he could believe, especially as the American winger and head coach Rick Tocchet engaged in a spirited discussion during the team’s morning skate.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“If I told you what I was offered for Brock Boeser, I think I would have to run out of here because you would not believe me,” Allvin said to <a href="https://x.com/noahstrang_/status/1898108992146358326">TSN’s Farhan Lalji</a>. “I would imagine that Brock is extremely hungry to finish off strong here and then prove that he’s a good player in this league, and we’ll continue to talk [about a new contract].”</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="166"></div>

<p><a href="https://canucksarmy.com/news/vancouver-canucks-willing-retain-brock-boeser-trade-report#:~:text=Reports%20came%20out%20that%20the,Boeser%20rejected%20the%20offer.">Boeser reportedly turned down</a> a recent contract offer from the Canucks, worth five-years and $40 million, with hopes of finding a longer contract. As of Friday, reports from <a href="https://x.com/RussoHockey/status/1898084128240886215">The Athletic’s Michael Russo</a> and <a href="https://x.com/DhaliwalSports/status/1898103712683528373">CHEK’s Rick Dhaliwal</a> suggested talks resumed between the two sides, but that a deal is still far from being done. </p>



<p>This season, Boeser has 18 goals and 37 points in 54 games, after his first 40 goal season came in last year’s Canucks success.</p>



<p>The Canucks have not been quiet in the trade market this season though, making a <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/vancouver-canucks-trade-j-t-miller-to-new-yorkrangers">blockbuster trade in February </a>that sent J.T. Miller to the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/new-york-rangers/news">New York Rangers</a>, in exchange for center Filip Chytil, defeseman Victor Mancini, and a first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, only to flip the pick to the<a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/pittsburgh-penguins/news"> Pittsburgh Penguins</a> for defenseman Marcus Pettersson.&nbsp;</p><div class="injected-ad" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="1" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="150"></div>



<p>The organization has made five trades this season, including one the day before the Trade Deadline, sending defenseman Carson Soucy to the Rangers for a 2025 third-round pick.&nbsp;</p>



<p>However, the offers on the table on Friday did not interest the Canucks before the 3:00 pm ET deadline.&nbsp;</p>



<p>“If we positioned ourselves a little bit better, it may have been easier,” Allvin said on TSN’s Tradecentre. “You could see some players that got moved; the prices were high. I also didn’t want to give up some of our younger players that most teams were asking for.”</p>



<p>Dealing with injuries to defenseman Quinn Hughes and goaltender Thatcher Demko, the Canucks are still chasing the playoffs with 21 games remaining in the regular season, including a Friday night clash with the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/minnesota-wild/news">Minnesota Wild</a>.&nbsp;</p>
