<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/carolina-hurricanes/line-combinations">Carolina Hurricanes </a>announced Thursday that <a href="https://www.nhl.com/hurricanes/news/canes-activate-miller-from-injured-reserve">defenseman K’Andre Miller</a> has been activated from injured reserve. </p>

<p>Miller will be available for the Hurricanes’ Thursday-night matchup against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/minnesota-wild/line-combinations">Minnesota Wild</a>. </p>



<p>Last week, Miller was placed on IR retroactive to Oct. 20 as the 25-year-old blueliner suffered a lower-body injury during the Hurricanes’ Oct. 20 game against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/vegas-golden-knights/line-combinations">Vegas Golden Knights</a>. A few days later, head coach <a href="https://x.com/WaltRuff/status/1981581083075354633">Rod Brind’Amour told reporters</a> Miller’s absence “could be a while.” </p>



<p>Through six games in 2025-26, Miller had two goals and two assists for four points, averaging 23:32 of ice time per game. He was <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/carolina-hurricanes-trade-kandre-miller-new-york-rangers-extension">acquired by the Hurricanes last July</a> in a trade with the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/new-york-rangers/line-combinations">New York Rangers</a>, with Carolina sending back a conditional first-round pick, a second-round pick and defenseman Scott Morrow. Soon after, he signed an eight-year, $60-million contract that pays the defender an annual average value (AAV) of $7.5 million through the 2032-33 season. </p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="178"></div>



<p>Now in his sixth NHL campaign, Miller, a native of St. Paul, Minn., has recorded 38 goals and 98 assists for 136 points in 374 career regular-season games with the Hurricanes and Rangers, averaging 21:29 of ice time. His most productive season came in 2022-23, where he reached career highs in all offensive categories, finishing with nine goals and 34 assists for 43 points. </p>



<p>Miller has also played in 43 career Stanley Cup Playoff games, scoring three times and adding nine assists for 12 points. </p>



<p>Taken with the No. 22 overall pick by the Rangers in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, Miller spent two seasons playing college hockey with the NCAA’s University of Wisconsin. <p>He also spent two seasons in the USHL with the U.S. National Development Program, finishing with four goals and 19 assists for 23 points in 56 games. </p>
