<p>A couple of tough injuries for one of the best teams in the Metropolitan Division. </p>



<p>During the team’s game against the <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/">Vancouver Canucks</a>, <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/carolina-hurricanes/line-combinations/">Carolina Hurricanes</a> forwards Seth Jarvis and Jesperi Kotkaniemi both left the game early due to injuries.</p>



<p>Jarvis’ injury occurred early in the first period. When battling for the puck behind the Canucks’ net, Jarvis was clipped by teammate Andrei Svechnikov’s stick in the eye. </p>

<p>Jarvis was attended to immediately by training staff while skating off the ice. It was just his second shift of the game, as the 23-year-old picked up a secondary assist on Svechnikov’s goal that tied the game 1-1 just moments before. Jarvis was ruled out with an upper-body injury.</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="136"></div>



<p>It hasn’t been made clear what led Kotkaniemi to exit Friday’s game. The Finnish center was noticeably absent from the Carolina bench when the second period began. The team later confirmed that Kotkaniemi wouldn’t be returning <a href="https://x.com/CanesPR/status/1989513631420055681">due to a lower-body injury</a>.  </p>



<p>Kotkaniemi had registered a plus/minus of -1 in 7:19 of ice time. In 11 shifts, he blocked a shot, a shot on goal, and three hits.</p>



<p>Jarvis had appeared in the Canes’ first 17 games of the season, scoring 10 goals and six assists for 16 points. His helper against the Canucks gave him five points over the past six games as well. The Winnipeg native has been a sparkplug for a Hurricanes team that has been criticized for its lack of star power. <p>Kotkaniemi had missed just two games thus far, having notched two goals and three assists for five points.</p>
