<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/colorado-avalanche/line-combinations">Colorado Avalanche</a> announced on social media that goaltender Scott Wedgewood left Tuesday’s game against the <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/">Vancouver Canucks</a> with an upper-body injury and would not return. </p>

<p>It’s unclear how Wedgewood suffered the injury, but according to <a href="https://x.com/runwriteAarif/status/1996057167556919632?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1996057167556919632%7Ctwgr%5Eba45e41d9854847a73c8de63b31a96709f4b7e5f%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fcoloradohockeynow.com%2F2025%2F12%2F02%2Favalanches-scott-wedgewood-leaves-game-in-second-period%2F"><em>Colorado Hockey Now</em> reporter Aarif Deen</a>, Blackwood left the ice during a TV timeout in the second period and was replaced by Mackenzie Blackwood. </p>



<p>Wedgewood finished with 10 saves on 11 shots in 32:28 of ice time. </p>

<p>Wedgewood has a 13-1-3 record with a .920 save percentage (SV%) and 2.07 goals against average (GAA) in 19 appearances. </p>



<p>The injury comes nearly a week after <a href="https://x.com/DarrenDreger/status/1993523878333976763?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1993523878333976763%7Ctwgr%5E94038a618dfb7e9ea43d4f9b5c13e1fde536dfb2%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailyfaceoff.com%2Fnews%2Fcolorado-avalanche-scott-wedgewood-added-canada-olympics-list-possible-participants"><em>TSN’s</em> Darren Dreger</a> reported Wedgewood was added to the Canadian National Team’s <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/colorado-avalanche-scott-wedgewood-added-canada-olympics-list-possible-participants">list of possible participants</a> for the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics. </p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="152"></div>



<p>Last month, Colorado signed Wedgewood to a&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/colorado-avalanche-sign-scott-wedgewood-one-year-contract-extension-nhl">one-year, $2.5-million contract extension</a>&nbsp;that will keep him through the 2026-27 season.</p>



<p>In 173 career NHL games, the Brampton, Ont. native has a 75-55-27 record with a .908 SV% and 2.79 GAA with the Avalanche, Predators,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/dallas-stars/line-combinations">Dallas Stars</a>,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/utah-hockey-club/line-combinations">Arizona Coyotes</a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/new-jersey-devils/line-combinations">New Jersey Devils</a>.</p>



<p>He has also made four playoff appearances, all in relief, posting an .862 SV% and 2.28 GAA.</p>



<p>Wedgewood has spent the majority of his professional career in the American Hockey League, where he posted a 94-59-24 record with a .906 SV% and 2.54 GAA in 191 career games with the Albany Devils, Adirondack Thunder, Binghamton Devils, Ontario Reign, Rochester Americans, Syracuse Crunch and Texas Stars.</p>



<p>He also spent parts of four seasons playing junior hockey in the Ontario Hockey League with the Plymouth Whalers, going 61-39-5 with a .908 SV% and 3.08 GAA in 122 career games.</p><div class="injected-ad" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="1" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="142"></div>



<p>Internationally, Wedgewood represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Championships. He went 2-0-0 with a .915 SV% and 2.42 GAA in three appearances.</p>
