<p>On Monday, the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/detroit-red-wings/line-combinations">Detroit Red Wings</a> placed forward injured reserve with an undisclosed injury.</p>

<p>Copp reportedly hurt his shoulder <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/detroit-red-wings-andrew-copp-exits-game-versus-minnesota-wild-injury">this past Saturday’s game</a> against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/minnesota-wild/line-combinations">Minnesota Wild</a>. The Ann Arbor native registered 10:50 minutes of ice in the contest, picking up an assist on Alex DeBrincat’s 26th goal of the season. However, the Red Wings squandered a 3-1 lead after Copp’s exit, losing 4-3 in overtime.</p>



<p>Copp also missed Detroit’s matchup on Sunday against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/anaheim-ducks/line-combinations">Anaheim Ducks</a>, in which the Wings won 5-4 in OT. </p>



<p>Per the league’s IR rules, Copp will not be eligible to return to the lineup on March 4 against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/carolina-hurricanes/line-combinations">Carolina Hurricanes</a>. That means he will miss the team’s Stadium Series game against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/columbus-blue-jackets/line-combinations">Columbus Blue Jackets</a> this Saturday.</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="136"></div>



<p>The 30-year-old has only missed one game so far this season. In 56 appearances, he has scored 10 goals and 13 assists for 23 points, posting a plus/minus of +4 while averaging 14:42 of ice time. Copp had notched points in four of his past five appearances prior to the injury.</p>



<p>Copp has been having a better season compared to his production during the 2023-24 campaign. After posting a solid 42 points during the 2022-23 season, his first year with the Wing, Copp registered 13 goals and 20 assists for 33 points. He has been on pace to eclipse that number this season.</p>



<p>The former <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/new-york-rangers/line-combinations">New York Ranger</a> is in the third season of his five-year contract that he signed in July 2022. <p>In 700 NHL games, which saw him spend over six seasons with the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/winnipeg-jets/line-combinations">Winnipeg Jets</a>, Copp has scored 114 goals and 186 assists for 300 points, including 26 points in 54 Stanley Cup Playoff games.</p>



<p>The Red Wings sit fourth in the Atlantic Division, holding the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.</p>
