At the very least, I’d contemplate dropping Backstrom. From a fantasy standpoint, he hasn’t done much since making his season debut. On Beniers: I’d wait a little while. He’s been banged up a bit lately. Afterall, there’s a reason why he’s the frontrunner for the Calder Trophy this season. Additionally, of the three potential adds you mentioned, I’m feeling ROR and Duchene. I think O’Reilly’s going to get traded, and quietly, Duchene’s been consistently producing once again this season for the Preds. So, in summary, I’d drop Backstrom and grab one of those guys. Hold on Beniers for now.
Depending on team needs, I think it’s fair value for both sides. Furthermore, I feel like Zegras or Beniers is that difference between Thompson and Fox if that makes sense. Quality transaction.
Yeah, Arvidsson isn’t one of those guys to wait around for. While no one can truly answer your question, what I can say is that if there’s currently a better option available to you, do that and you can always circle back on Arvidsson down the road. Just be cognizant that he’s coming off a three point (one goal, two assists) outing against Buffalo.
Personally, I’d take a wait and see approach. No rush.
I’ll go with Ryan O’Reilly. I should preface by stating that I had him in my top-100 fantasy rankings heading into the season. Obviously, that hasn’t gone totally according to plan. Having said that, he’s looked really good since coming back from the broken foot. Additionally, I do think he gets dealt, and automatically, I think that should help to boost his fantasy value —regardless of where he ends up.
