<p>The <a href="https://oilersnation.com/">Edmonton Oilers</a> <a href="https://x.com/EdmontonOilers/status/1940243833088090432">announced</a> Tuesday that the club has signed unrestricted free agent left winger Andrew Mangiapane to a two-year contract that carries a $3.6-million average annual value.</p>



<p>Through 81 games last season with the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/washington-capitals/line-combinations">Washington Capitals</a>, Mangiapane collected 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points coupled with 24 penalty minutes. Mangiapane then added another one goal and one assist for two points through 10 postseason appearances.</p>



<p>Prior to joining the Capitals, Mangiapane spent part of seven seasons with the <a href="https://flamesnation.ca/">Calgary Flames</a>, highlighted by the 2021-22 campaign that saw him register a career high of 55 points counting 35 goals and 20 assists coming in 82 games. In all, through 498 career contests with the Flames and Capitals, Mangiapane has tallied 123 goals and 120 assists for 243 points. The veteran forward has also added seven goals and seven assists for 14 points through 37 appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="152"></div>



<p>A 29-year-old Toronto native, Mangiapane was originally chosen by the Flames in the sixth round of the 2015 NHL Draft.</p>



<p>A graduate of the OHL’s Barrie Colts, Mangiapane was a prolific producer over three seasons in the junior ranks, underscored by back-to-back seasons in 2014-15 and 2015-16 that saw him reach triple-digit production. In all, through 195 career contests with the Colts, Mangiapane collected 118 goals and 143 assists for 261 points.</p>



<p>Mangiapane has also seen success in international competition, joining Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Championship where in seven games he posted seven goals and four assists for 11 points to help the Great White North claim the gold medal. For his efforts, Mangiapane was recognized as the tournament MVP.</p>
