<p>After he did not receive a qualifying offer from the Vancouver Canucks this offseason, the Edmonton Oilers could be a potential landing spot for 27-year-old Justin Bailey. </p>



<p>According to Jason Gregor, the Oilers have signed Bailey to a professional tryout contract. </p>

<p>The forward spent the last three seasons in the Canucks organization, primarily with their AHL affiliate (the Abbotsford Canucks and before relocation, the Utica Comets). </p>



<p>During the 2021-22 season, he played 14 games with Vancouver but failed to collect a single point. In 30 games with Abbotsford, he tallied 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points. </p>



<p>Bailey was sidelined for almost the entirety of the 2020-21 season after sustaining a shoulder injury from a hit by Milan Lucic in a matchup between Vancouver and the Calgary Flames at the start of the year, which ultimately required surgery. </p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="165"></div>



<p>Drafted 52nd overall in the 2013 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, Bailey has appeared in a total of 82 NHL games and 296 AHL games to this point in his professional career. He had a brief stint in the Philadelphia Flyers’ organization during the 2018-19 season. </p>
