Moser, 24, appeared in 27 games prior to hitting the injured reserve, scoring two goals, and adding eight assists for 10 points. He was averaging 19:53 of ice-time with the Bolts, and will look to get back up to speed as the Lightning return to the ice after the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
Moser last played on Dec.12 against the Calgary Flames before exiting after 12:23 of ice-time. He was then placed on injured reserve Dec.14. The native of Biel, Switzerland was a big piece of the return Tampa Bay received from Utah HC in the Mikhail Sergachev blockbuster trade. The Lightning also received forward Conor Geekie and a 2024 draft pick in the deal.
Originally a 2021 second-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes, the 24-year-old Moser has appeared in 232 career NHL games, scoring 18 goals, adding 64 assists for 82 points. He made his North American professional debut during the 2021-22 season, when he dressed in 18 games for the Tucson Roadrunners of the American Hockey League. So far throughout his young career, Moser’s best season came back in 2022-23 with the Coyotes, tallying 31 points in 82 games, including seven goals.
Tampa Bay has managed to keep their heads above water while Moser has been out of the lineup, entering the 4 Nations Face-off break sitting third in the Atlantic Division with a 31-20-4 record. The Bolts will host the Kraken on a four-game winning streak, despite not playing a game since Feb.9, a 5-3 victory over the Montreal Canadiens.
The Lightning play their next three on home ice, as after the Kraken come to town on Sunday, they’ll welcome the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames.
