The Los Angeles Kings announced Monday that the club has signed right winger Jared Wright to a two-year, entry-level contract set to begin in the upcoming season.

Wright was originally chosen by the Kings in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Draft.

Through 44 appearances this season with the NCAA’s Denver Pioneers, Wright collected nine goals and eight assists for 17 points coupled with six penalty minutes and a plus-17 rating. With the Pioneers in 2023-24, Wright reached a career-high 25 points counting 15 goals and 10 assists coming in 44 games. In all, through three seasons with the Pioneers, Wright totaled 32 goals and 22 assists for 54 points through 122 career contests.

Prior to committing to Denver, the 22-year-old native of Burnsville, Minn., spent a single season with the USHL’s Omaha Lancers where through 59 outings he tallied 15 goals and 19 assists to finish second in team scoring with 34 points alongside six penalty minutes and a minus-seven mark. The season prior, Wright made a six-game showing with the NAHL’s Minot Minotauros, finishing with a minus-two rating.

Wright becomes the fourth player to sign his entry-level contract with Los Angeles in recent weeks, joining London Knights defenseman Jared Woolley, Finnish League blue-liner Otto Salin, as well as UMass Minutemen forward Kenny Connors.

For the Kings, on the season the club sits second place in the Pacific Division with a 46-24-9 record and 101 points. Los Angeles will close out its regular-season schedule with contests against the Edmonton Oilers, Seattle Kraken, and Calgary Flames before beginning postseason play where it will take on the Oilers for the fourth consecutive year. The Kings have advanced to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for each of the past three years, but have been ousted by the Oilers in the opening round each time.
