<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/new-york-rangers/line-combinations" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">New York Rangers</a> have announced that defenseman Carson Soucy left Saturday night’s game against the <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/pittsburgh-penguins/line-combinations" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pittsburgh Penguins</a> due to an upper-body injury.</p>

<p>Soucy left the game early in the second period after an awkward fall into the boards. As Rickard Rakell was entering the Rangers zone to play the puck along the half-boards, Soucy engaged the winger and went to make a hit to knock Rakell off the puck. However, Soucy missed the hit ever so slightly, and tripped over Rakell’s leg and went head-first into the boards.</p>

<p>Soucy remained on the ice for a bit of time, with the medical trainers on the ice with him as well. While Soucy needed some help up, he got off the ice without any assistance, and left the game after that. He did not return for the start of the third period, with the Rangers announcing that he was out for the rest of the game shortly after.</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="183"></div>



<p>Soucy left the game with just a hit and a hit taken in 6:34 of ice time, as the Rangers went on to win the game 6-1.</p>



<p>With Soucy out of the lineup, his defense partner Will Borgen has seen a steady rotation of the Rangers’ other two left defensemen, Vladislav Gavrikov and Urho Vaakanainen. Should Soucy miss any additional time, Matthew Robertson is the Rangers’ lone defenseman among the healthy scratches, so he will likely draw into the lineup.</p>



<p>Soucy has one goal in three games so far this season.</p>



<p>Soucy had a solid season offensively in 2024-25, as he had four goals and nine assists for 13 points in 75 games with the <a href="https://canucksarmy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Vancouver Canucks</a> and the Rangers. He started the season with the Canucks, where he had three goals, seven assists and 10 points in 59 games, but was dealt to the Rangers in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick at the 2025 trade deadline.
