The 32-year-old Kane had 24 goals and 20 assists in 44 games with the Oilers this season, and in his three seasons with Edmonton, has 62 goals and 49 assists for 111 points in 161 games, including 16 goals and six assists for 22 points in 27 playoff games with the club.

In 15 NHL seasons, Kane has 326 goals and 291 assists for 617 points in 930 career NHL games with the Oilers, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks and the Winnipeg Jets-Atlanta Thrashers franchise.

The Oilers finished with a 49-27-6 record and 104 points, second in the Pacific Division. Their first-round opponent, the Kings, finished 44-27-11 with 99 points, third in the division.

Connor McDavid finished the season with 32 goals and 100 assists for 132 points in 76 games this season. Right behind him was Leon Draisaitl, scoring 41 goals and 65 assists for 106 points. Defenseman Evan Bouchard had a breakout campaign, scoring 18 goals and 64 assists for 82 points. He finished fourth in the NHL this season in scoring for defenseman.
