On Tuesday, it was confirmed that six NHL teams will once again compete in the 2024 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, New York.

The Prospects Challenge will take place from Friday, Sept. 13 to Monday, Sept. 16 at LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo. It will be hosted by the Buffalo Sabres for the ninth year since beginning with only four teams in 2015. The event will be a round-robin tournament, with each franchise playing three games and the club with the best record being named champion.

The six teams taking part in the tournament will be the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Columbus Blue Jackets, New Jersey Devils, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins. It will be the first time Columbus has played in the Prospects Challenge, as the Montreal Canadiens have been the sixth team in previous years. Pittsburgh won the tournament in 2023.
