Evgeni Malkin’s three missing Stanley Cup rings have been found inside his residence, the Allegheny County Police Department announced Thursday.

Earlier this week, reports indicated that Malkin’s trio of championship rings were taken from his residence during a weekend burglary, with an investigation later revealing that the break-in was thought to have occurred Saturday while the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted the Ottawa Senators. Malkin’s home alarm system was down at the time of the incident, while a safe inside the residence was left open.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Allegheny County Police, the Sewickley Heights Police and the entire Penguins organization,” Malkin said in a statement Thursday. “The outpouring of support and concern from my teammates and fans over the past few days means so much to my family and I.”

Capturing Stanley Cup titles with the Penguins in 2009, 2016, and 2017, Malkin was originally chosen by Pittsburgh with the second-overall selection in the 2004 NHL Draft. Through 1,187 career contests with the Penguins, Malkin has amassed 506 goals and 823 assists for 1,329 points to rank third all-time in franchise scoring behind Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby.

Beyond his three Stanley Cup championships, Malkin’s impressive list of accolades includes the 2006-07 Calder Trophy as the NHL’s Rookie of the Year, two-time Art Ross Trophy recognition as the league’s leading scorer, one Hart Trophy win as the NHL’s regular season MVP, as well as the Conn Smythe Trophy as postseason MVP following his efforts in the 2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs after he led all skaters with 36 points counting 14 goals and 22 assists through 24 postseason appearances.

Malkin is the second NHL player to be the victim of a home invasion this season as in recent weeks it was revealed that Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin’s home in Texas was targeted, with the unknown suspects taking valuables from Seguin’s jewelry collection.
