There was only one trade completed on the March 18 PWHL Trade Deadline, but it was a big one.

According to The Hockey News’ Ian Kennedy, Montreal traded forward Tereza Vanisova to Ottawa in exchange for defender Amanda.

Nearly 20 minutes after the 4 p.m. EST deadline passed, Kennedy shared on social media that a trade between the two clubs was in the works involving Montreal and Ottawa. He reported that it looked like the deal had gotten done before 4 p.m.

Sounding as though the trade that was in the works in the final moments before the #PWHL trade deadline involved Ottawa and Montreal. Sounds like it got done, although nothing fully confirmed yet. We’re 20 minutes after the deadline now but the wheels are still spinning.

It wasn’t until 5:09 p.m. EST that Kennedy confirmed that Vanisova and Boulier would be swapped.

This season, Vanisova had two goals and eight assists for 10 points in 17 games with Montreal. Her 10 points put her tied for fourth in team scoring.

Montreal is 10-5-3 through 18 games, third in league standings. The club was briefly first for a few weeks in February before losing three straight, including a 2-1 loss to Toronto in Pittsburgh last Sunday.

Montreal’s next game before the international break is this Sunday on the road as they face Minnesota.

Meanwhile, Boulier has one goal and five assists for six points in 17 games with Ottawa this season.

Ottawa is 5 -6-6 through 17 games, fifth in league standings. Last Saturday in Detroit, they lost 2-1 in a shootout to Boston.
