<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/boston-bruins/line-combinations">Boston Bruins</a> lost defenseman <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/sources-team-usa-boston-bruins-charlie-mcavoy-is-week-to-week-after-procedure-to-clear-infection">Charlie McAvoy to injury </a>during the 4 Nations Face-Off, and on Sunday they announced that <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/boston-bruins/line-combinations">Hampus Lindholm is “unlikely” to return this season</a> after suffering a lower-body injury in November. </p>



<p>Without two of their key defenders for the foreseeable future, the Bruins are on the outside looking in when it comes to a playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, with some wondering if this may be the first time Boston misses the playoffs since 2015-16. </p>



<p>On Monday’s episode of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3x6-9qUf8Ac">Daily Faceoff LIVE</a>, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss the Bruins’ recent rash of injuries, and where it leaves Boston as we approach the March 7 NHL Trade Deadline. </p>



<p><strong>Tyler Yaremchuk</strong>: They’ve been in the conversation for the last three-to-five weeks in terms of whether they’re going to sell or if they’re clinging to life in the playoff race. <p><strong>Frank Seravalli</strong>: I think that’s a really interesting way to frame it. I don’t want to say that they’ve waived the white flag, but, man, it certainly seems like a team that’s become one of the most fascinating teams at the deadline, and a true wild card when it comes to which way they turn. </p>



<p>I don’t think they’re going to be adding to beef up this team, but at the same time, I still have a real hard time getting to the point that they trade Brad Marchand. Even from some Bruins fans, I know the commentary has been, “Hey blow this team up, let’s see the retool, let’s do it.” That’s not really been in their DNA as a franchise, and definitely not how Cam Neely tends to operate. </p><div class="injected-ad" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="1" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="133"></div>
