It’s the week of the NHL Draft and we are just eight days away from the beginning of free agency. While there wasn’t a lot of news this weekend around the league, a lot is going on behind the scenes and Frank kicked off today’s edition of The DFO Rundown by giving a quick update on the trade market. Are the Sabres getting closer to moving JJ Peterka? Will the Islanders move Noah Dobson by the draft?



From there, they dug into their offseason previews for the eight teams in the Western Conference that made the playoffs. They started with the St. Louis Blues, who are facing some big questions this summer. The Minnesota Wild are in a position where they can be hyper-aggressive. The Colorado Avalanche are low on funds, but need to make some moves to fix a roster that was bounced in the first round. They kept rolling and hit on the Winnipeg Jets, who are bringing in 3x Stanley Cup Champion Jonathan Toews. What else will Kevin Cheveldayoff do? The guys gave their takes. Vegas never sits still in the offseason, and the expectation is that they will push hard for Mitch Marner. The Dallas Stars already made some spicy decisions after getting bounced by the Oilers in the Western Conference Final. They still need a coach, but will that be the last big move they make?



 They wrapped by talking about the Oilers, the McDavid extension, and what they need to do in order to get back to the Stanley Cup Final.
