<p>The <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/washington-capitals/line-combinations" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Washington Capitals</a> are playing on found money this season. While some wondered if they would even be a playoff team, they’ve been well beyond that and are playing like one of the best teams in the league.</p>



<p>But with all that in mind, how do they approach the trade deadline? Do they go all-in on a year where they’re really competitive, or do they still stick to the plan of their on-the-fly rebuild?</p>



<p>Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk talked about the Capitals and what their plan of action should be at the Trade Deadline this season on Daily Faceoff Live.</p>



<p><strong>Frank Seravalli: </strong>I have real questions about that. For one, they’ve had some serious chemistry with their team. I think they’ll make a move, but I think the beauty of the Caps is that they’re able to continue to reload on the fly. They’ve got some prospects and the depth that they could trade a pick and it wouldn’t hurt them. So I’d imagine that would be the case.</p><div class="injected-ad injected-video" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="0" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="170"></div>



<p>I still think they need a third line center. They went out and got Lars Eller, who’s not enough, so that’s the position I would circle, which is why I had someone like Scott Laughton going to them in our trade deadline matchmaker article.</p>



<p>I just think Washington is really well-positioned, and in a wide-open Eastern Conference, why not them? I just don’t think that, as much as they want to compete with Alex Ovechkin there, that they’re gonna go way over the top in trying to do it, because it’s only one year ago that no one was really taking them seriously and they were still coming out of rebuild mode. I doubt that this is the moment where you just go nuclear and throw everything on the table.</p>



<p><strong>Tyler Yaremchuk: </strong>I would like to see them maybe add a little bit more on the wings too. There’s a lot of guys there I like, but maybe you just add a little bit more scoring punch to that bottom six and you feel good?</p><div class="injected-ad" data-nn-ad-tech-injection-count="1" data-nn-ad-tech-max-gap="130" data-nn-ad-tech-current-gap="175"></div>



<p><strong>Frank Seravalli: </strong>This is a year that almost everyone on the Caps is having a career year. It’s a very <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/teams/seattle-kraken/line-combinations" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Seattle Kraken</a>-ish year from a couple years ago. I don’t know that you want to go wild.</p>
