Mike McKenna and Tyler Yaremchuk finished off Daily Faceoff Live with a little bit of Garbage Time, with McKenna tells us about a creative goalie celebration in the American Hockey League.

Mike McKenna: I don’t know if anyone caught it over the weekend, we were so busy with Super Bowl stuff, but on Saturday you might have caught this. We’re looking towards the Milwaukee Admirals, and we’re looking towards Yaroslav Askarov, because this guy got some reps in after a big 45 save shootout win.

Yaroslav Askarov's really raising the bar for goalie celebrations. 🏋️‍♂️

Will you look at this celly in the shootout? Turned around, hopped down in the crease, and started repping out. I tell you, I’ve never seen anything like this, I never considered anything like this when I was playing. The only thing I questioned at the end was that net, if his teammate hadn’t grabbed it, it would have fallen right on his head. 10/10 on creativity here for Askarov, but boy, a little dangerous there. You got to give it a good pop so that it doesn’t come back down.

But I’ll tell you what though, this guys a really high draft pick, first round draft pick for the Predators. He’s 4-1 over his last five games in Milwaukee, he’s 17-9-3 on the year with a .910. He’s got four assists as well, great puck handler. So, his career now in North America is starting to really trend in the right direction, and as you can see, he’s having fun, and he’s playing with some confidence in Milwaukee.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Love that, a little bit of swagger. I’m sure most people who go to the gym would tell you that you always need to have a good spotter, so you’re right, he was lucky his teammate was there. 10/10 for creativity, maybe like a 5/10 for the execution. The stick was hitting him in the face and all that, but I love that. I love players having fun at the pro level, it’s great stuff.
