The Jets have placed Adam Lowry (upper-body) on IR.

Lowry missed Saturday’s game with a lower-body injury and was set to miss tonight’s game as well, his move to IR opened up a roster spot for the Jets to recall Brendan Lemieux from Manitoba (AHL). THere’s no word on how long Lowry will be sidelined but his move to IR was retroactive to October 12th, so he is eligible to come off before Friday’s game vs. Minnesota.

The Jets signed Adam Lowry to a two-year deal worth $2.25 million ($1.125M AAV) on July 14th.

After a solid 2014-15 season, the Jets were expecting Lowry to take a step forward, but instead he took a step in the other direction. Lowry had just 17 points (7G / 10A) in 74 games with Winnipeg and four assists in four games with Manitoba (AHL). Lowry will try and bounce-back with the Jets this year.

Lowry was expected to blossom into a top-6 forward this season, but has struggled to just eight points (1G / 7A) in 31 games this season. He heads to Manitoba and the Jets are expected to recall a forward in the next 24 hours.
