Aleksander Barkov News
Barkov (hand) will return to the Panthers’ lineup on Tuesday.

Barkov has missed the last six games with a hand injury that he suffered on December 1st. With Barkov returning, Vincent Trochek is expected to take a seat and could be headed back to San Antonio. Barkov has had a slow start, posting just two goals and two assists in 19 games.

Barkov (hand) not expected to play on Thursday.

Barkov is not on the ice at the Panthers morning skate, which suggests that he will miss his second straight game with a hand injury that he suffered on Monday vs. the Blue Jackets. Again, there is no break, but Barkov’s hand has some swelling and it looks like it will keep him out of at least one more game.

Barkov (illness) will play on Thursday.

Barkov missed Tuesday’s game with an illness, but he will be back in tonight vs. the Sharks. Barkov has been in an out of the lineup frequently as of late, but Barkov owners are hoping he can stay in the lineup for an extended period of time and start racking up points. He is worth adding to your watch list after this slow start.

Barkov (lower-body) is a full participant in Panthers’ practice this morning.

Barkov, who has missed the last two games, is on the ice this morning skating on his regular line with Brad Boyes and Jussu Jokinen. Barkov has gotten off to a slow start this season, but should start finding the twine soon. Expect him to be in the lineup tomorrow in Philadelphia.

Barkov (knee) is out indefinitely but will not need surgery.

There is no timetable for Barkov's return, but with only two months left in the regular season, he is expected to miss multiple weeks, his fantasy value heading forward is extremely limited. He has been excellent posting eight goals and 16 assists (24 points) in 54 games this season. In deep keeper leagues and dynasty leagues, Barkov appears to have great value and a bright future. Nick Bjugstad, the Panthers' other impressive rookie center, appears set to fill-in for Barkov and center the line with Sean Bergenheim and Brad Boyes.

Barkov will miss the rest of the tournament after sustaining a knee injury during last night’s match-up against Norway.

As if Team Finland needed another offensive setback with an already depleted line up, they will have to rely on their secondary scoring as their only source of offensive production. Luckily for Finland, most of their scoring over the past 2 games of the tournament has come from their 2nd and 3rd lines, respectively.
