Galchenyuk’s career has completely crumbled into pieces. After posting 50-plus points in two of his last three seasons with Montreal, Galchenyuk has been traded three times in two seasons and has just 58 points (24G / 34A) in his last 117 games, including 17 points (5G / 12A) in 45 games this year. He will likely fill a similar bottom-6 role in Minnesota. Galchenyuk will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of 2020.

Galchenyuk is officially listed as a game-time decision but being activated from IR is a clear sign that he's back tonight. Galchenyuk is expected to skate on the second line with Nick Bjugstad and Patric Hornqvist and returns with two assists in three games this season.

Galchenyuk was a full participant in Monday’s practice and could be back in the lineup on Tuesday. Galchenyuk, who has been out since October 8th, will be a game-time decision and had two assists in his first three games with the Penguins.

Galchenyuk aggravated a prior injury according to head coach Mike Sullivan. His movement to IR means he will miss at least one week. The Penguins recalled Adam Johnson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to take Galchenyuk’s spot on the roster.

Galchenyuk was missing from Wednesday’s practice, putting his status for Thursday’s game in question. Head coach Mike Sullivan said that Galchenyuk aggravated a prior ailment. If he misses Thursday’s game, the Penguins will likely be without four of their top-9 forwards (Galchenyuk, Evgeni Malkin, Patric Hornqvist and Nick Bjugstad).

As expected, Galchenyuk was back on the ice for Wednesday’s practice, skating on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and Brandon Tanev. Head coach Mike Sullivan called Galchenyuk a “game-time decision” but all signs point towards him making his Penguins debut in the top-6 and on the second power-play unit.

Galchenyuk is officially listed as day-to-day but GM Jim Rutherford said the Penguins are confident that Galchenyuk will be able to play Thursday. The 25-year-old is coming off of a disappointing season in Arizona but is expected to skate alongside Evgeni Malkin, which makes him an excellent bounce-back/post-hype candidate.

Galchenyuk has been traded for the second time in two summers. The 25-year-old was hurt to start the 2018-19 season but finished the year with 19 goals and 22 assists (41 points) in 72 games with Arizona. Surprisingly, Galchenyuk’s minutes dropped with the Coyotes but he could easily replace Kessel in the Penguins’ top-6 and land on a line with Evgeni Malkin, which could revitalize his young career.

Galchenyuk missed Tuesday’s game in Boston and remains questionable for Thursday’s game in Buffalo. Galchenyuk has not been great through 21 games in Arizona, picking up just 11 points (3G / 8A). Galchenyuk’s 45.8 CorsiFor% and -2.1 CF% rel doesn’t lend a lot of hope that things are going to get much better in the near future.

Galchenyuk is dealing with a minor injury so he is questionable for Tuesday’s game in Boston. If he can’t play, look for Michael Bunting to make his NHL debut.

Galchenyuk will skate on the Coyotes top line with Clayton Keller and Lawson Crouse tonight in Columbus. Galchenyuk was listed as a game-time decision on Monday, but head coach Rick Tocchet confirmed that he will play after Tuesday’s morning skate.

Galchenyuk skated on the top-line in Coyotes’ practice on Monday and it looks as if he will make his Arizona debut tomorrow. The Coyotes top line could make some noise with the 24-year-old skating alongside Clayton Keller and former first-rounder Lawson Crouse. Galchenyuk had 19 goals and 32 assists (51 points) in 82 games with the Canadiens last season.

Galchenyuk skated both Monday and Tuesday and was cleared for contact after Tuesday’s morning skate. There is still no timetable for Galchenyuk’s return, but this is a big step forward and a sign that he should be back before the end of the month.

For the first time since suffering a lower-body injury in the preseason, Galchenyuk took to the ice in a non-contact jersey. The yougn centre was acquired from the Canadiens this offseason but his Coyotes debut was put on hold. This is the first step in Galchenyuk’s recovery and his return will be imminent once he shed that non-contact sweater.

Galchenyuk was already expected to miss the first few weeks of the season, so moving him to the IR was simply a formality to open up a roster spot. With Galchenyuk out, Dylan Strome is expected to take on a larger role in the Coyotes offence early in the season.

Galchenyuk was hurt in last Tuesday’s preseason game and will miss the start of the regular season. The first-year Coyote could miss a couple of weeks and his injury could lead to Clayton Keller moving to centre for the time being.
