Stolarz served as Steve Mason’s backup on Wednesday because Michal Neuvirth was dealing with an upper-body injury. With Neuvirth back at practice this morning, Stolarz has been sent back to Lehigh Valley.

Stolarz, 21, has gone 5-3-1 with a 1.90 GAA and .930 SV% in the AHL this season. With Michal Neuvirth out with an injury, Stolarz has been recalled to back up Steve Mason on Tuesday.

Stolarz still has not played any NHL action during his call-up. With his return to the minors it suggests that Ray Emery will be back in the lineup on Tuesday.

Stolarz served as Rob Zepp’s backup on Tuesday, but has been reassigned to Lehigh Valley, which means that Steve Mason will dress on Thursday.

Stolarz, 21, has gone 7-11-3 with a 3.17 GAA and .908 SV% with Lehigh Valley this season. He is unlikely to get into a game as he expected to serve as Rob Zepp’s backup for at least the next two games.

Stolarz did not get into a game during his recall and with Rob Zepp now healthy, Stolarz will swap places with him and head back to Lehigh Valley. The 21-year-old is 7-10-1 with a 3.04 GAA and .911 SV% in the AHL.

Stolarz, 21, was a second-round pick (45th overall) of the Flyers in 2012. He has gone 7-10-1 with a 3.04 GAA and .911 SV% in his rookie season with Lehigh Valley. He is likely not ready to play in the NHL, but with Steve Mason out at the NHL level and Rob Zepp out at the AHL level, the Flyers did not have a choice. He will back-up Ray Emery on Tuesday.
