Czarnik will head back to Grand Rapids (AHL) Friday where he enjoyed a strong opening to the season with 10 points (5G/5A) in eight games played. In his brief stint with the Red Wings he was solid, picking up a goal off four SOG in four games while averaging only 11:50 in a bottom six role.
Czarnik was originally claimed by the Kraken on February 8th but was reclaimed by the Islanders less than one month later. Because no one else submitted a claim for the 29-year-old, the Islanders were able to reassign him to Bridgeport (AHL). He has 15 points (6G / 9A) in 20 AHL games this season.
Czarnik has scored two goals with three assists (five points) in 11 games with the Islanders this season. The 29-year-old forward has 43 points (15G / 28A) in 136 career games with the Bruins, Flames and Islanders.
Czarnik quickly returns to the NHL with Mathew Barzal landing in COVID-19 protocol and should draw into the lineup on Thursday. He had a strong showing with the Islanders earlier in the season, scoring one goal with two assists in four games. He's also compiled 15 points (6G / 9A) in 20 AHL games.

Czarnik has been squeezed out in Calgary but they catch a break with him clearing waivers on Thursday. He returns to the AHL, where he has three points (1G / 2A) in three games this year.
Czarnik has not played since October 24th due to a lower-body injury, so he'll go get a game or two with Stockton before returning to the NHL.
