Bishop stopped 40 of 42 shots in the Stars 2-1 overtime loss in Nashville in Game 2. Bishop was outstanding for the second straight game and has now stopped 70 of the first 74 shots (.946 SV%) that he has faced in the series. Goals have been equally hard to come by at the other end of the rink, so Bishop will have to play great again in Game 3 if the Stars are going to take a 2-1 series lead.

Bishop was limited to just 45 starts due to injury this year but he finished first in the league in SV% (.934) and second in GAA (1.98). The will be Bishop’s first playoff appearance with the Stars and first since 2016. In 36 career playoff starts while he was in Tampa Bay, Bishop was 21-13 with a 2.09 GAA, .927 SV% and five shutouts, so he is no stranger to playoff success.

Bishop will miss his fourth straight game but may be ready to start Saturday and is fully expected to be ready for the playoffs. Bishop has had an outstanding season, posting a 2.03 GAA and .933 SV% in 45 games this season.

Bishop was forced to leave Thursday’s game in Minnesota with a lower-body injury. Bishop stopped all seven shots that he faced before getting hurt, keeping his shutout streak alive and earning the win. The Stars are back in action on Friday, so look for Anton Khudobin to get the start.

Bishop, who was given Saturday night off, comes into Tuesday’s game with back-to-back shutouts and three straight wins—stopping 88 of the last 89 shots (.989 SV%) he faced. Bishop stopped all 30 shots that he faced in a 1-0 shutout win in his first start vs. the Sabres.

Bishop allowed one goal on 30 shots in the Stars win in St. Louis on Saturday. Since returning from injury, Bishop has lost two of his three outing despite stopping 101 of the 106 shots (.953 SV%) that he has faced. In his first game vs. the Rangers, Bishop stopped 12 of 13 shots before leaving after the second period in a 2-1 loss.
