Wheeler will miss his third consecutive game due to COVID-19 protocol. Andrew Copp has filled in admirably in Wheeler's absence, so expect him to continue to be utilized in a top-6 role.

Wheeler hasn't played since April 5th but is expected to return to the lineup on Thursday after participating in practice this week and this morning's morning skate. Wheeler, who has 10 goals and 22 assists (32 points) in 39 games this season, is expected to skate on a line with Mark Scheifele and Kyle Connor.
Wheeler missed the second and third periods of Wednesday's game vs. the Maple Leafs but will be a game-time decision on Friday. Wheeler took part in the Jets' morning skate, which is a good sign that he'll be available tonight.

Wheeler was given a maintenance day on Monday, but he is expected to play on Wednesday. Wheeler will make for a strong play against the Leafs, he is currently riding a four-game point streak—one goal and three assists over that span.
Wheeler reportedly took a Dustin Byfuglien shot off of the head and was forced to leave the ice. The Jets are optimistic that it is not serious, but expect an update to come on Saturday morning.
Wheeler will finish the regular season with 26 goals and 35 assists, which is very similar to the numbers that he put-up in 2013-14. He will rest this afternoon and gear up to be a crucial player in the Jets playoff lineup.
