The Wld have signed Brad Hunt to a two-year, $1.4 million ($700K AAV) contract extension.

Hunt has bounced around the NHL over the last few seasons but will stick in Minnesota for a couple of seasons. Hunt was acquired from Vegas in the middle of the 2019 season and finished with five points (3G / 2A) in 29 games with the Wild—12 points (5G / 7A) in 42 games overall.

Hunt will make his Wild debut on Wednesday.

A couple of days after being acquired from Vegas, Hunt will make his debut in Colorado. Hunt will skate on the second pair with Jonas Brodin and is expected to see some power-play time. Hunt has two goals and five assists (seven points) in 13 games this season.

The Wild acquired Brad Hunt and a 2019 sixth-round pick from the Golden Knights for a 2019 fifth-round pick.

The Golden Knights needed to move a body or two and Hunt was a logical candidate. Hunt often sits as a healthy scratch, appearing in just 13 of 51 games this season. However, Hunt is a capable producer of offence from the blueline, picking up seven points (2G / 5A) in those games and could play regularly in Minnesota. Hunt has 34 career points (7G / 27A) in 91 NHL games with the Oilers, Blues, Predators and Golden Knights.

The Predators have claimed Brad Hunt off of waivers from St. Louis.

The Predators are without their top two defenseman, P.K. Subban and Roman Josi, so adding Hunt just adds some much-needed depth right now. Hunt played well with the Blues, scoring one goal with four assists (five points) in nine games before being a healthy scratch for three games and ultimately being waived.
