Brian Elliott News
Elliott is in the starter's crease at the morning skate; expected to start in Chicago.

Elliott allowed four goals on 32 shots in the Flames loss to the Hurricanes. Chad Johnson has started three of the last four games, but it looks like they’ll go back to Elliott tonight. Elliott is winless with a 4.72 GAA and .839 SV% in his first three starts in a Flames uniform. Tonight he would face a Blackhawks team that is 3-3-0 while averaging 3.67 goals per game so far.

The Flames will go back to Elliott on Thursday.

Elliott allowed four goals on 28 shots in the Flames loss to the Oilers last Friday. Elliott’s Flames career has not gotten off to the start that his owners hoped for. He has allowed a combined 10 goals on 55 shots for an ugly .818 SV%. The veteran will look to bounce-back against a Hurricanes team that is 0-1-2 despite scoring 3.00 goals per game to start the year.

Elliott will start Friday vs. the Oilers.

Elliott was torched for six goals on 27 shots in his Flames’ debut on Wednesday. The Flames went on to lose 7-4 to the Oilers, but it can’t be pinned on Elliott. Calgary left their netminder hung out to dry on multiple occasions and one goal was a Connor McDavid penalty shot. With the same opponent tonight, Elliott looks like a risky start, but the Flames should be better in front of him in this one—they frankly can’t be worse.

Elliott will start the Flames' season opener in Edmonton.

Elliott always split time in his five years with the Blues, never starting more than 45 games in a single year, but that will likely change this year. Elliott is now the Flames’ No.1 and should start close to 55-to-60 games. In the last five years, he has gone 164-104-46 while ranking first in the NHL in GAA (2.01) and second in SV% (.925). He draws a tough assignment on opening night, vs. Connor McDavid and an improved Oilers squad.

Elliott will start Game 4 in Chicago.

Elliott turned aside 44 of 46 shots in the Blues 3-2 win over the Blackhawks in game three. Elliott has had an excellent start to the series, going 2-1 with a 1.28 GAA, .963 SV% and one shutout. Elliott has been the star through the first three games and tonight he gets the nod in Chicago, where he will try and give the Blues a 3-1 series lead.

Elliott will start Game 1 vs. the Blackhawks.

Elliott closed out the regular season on a low-note, allowing four goals on 26 shots in the Blues loss to the Capitals on Saturday. Despite the loss, he won six of his final eight starts with a 1.76 GAA, .933 SV% and three shutouts. With Jake Allen still nurturing an injury, so Elliott gets the call to start the Blues playoff series with Chicago. Elliott was 1-1-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .892 SV% in three starts against the Blackhawks this season.
