Pickard allowed two goals on 42 shots in Colorado’s loss to the Blackhawks on Tuesday. Pickard has played very well in his last two outings and despite Semyon Varlamov being back with the team, Pickard will go again tonight vs. the Stars. Pickard has allowed five goals on 80 shots (.938 SV%) in his last two outings, but draws another rough matchup tonight.

Pickard allowed three goals on 38 shots in Colorado’s win in Los Angeles last Wednesday. Pickard will start his third consecutive game, having allowed a combined seven goals on 58 shots (.879 SV%) in his first two starts. He will face a Blackhawks team that lost three of four before the All-Star break.

Pickard was pulled after he allowed four goals on 20 shots in Colorado’s loss in San Jose last night. He missed the morning skate with an illness, but still played and Patrick Roy wanted him to rest in the third so he’ll be ready to go tonight vs. the Kings. Pickard has a 2.87 GAA and .907 SV% since being recalled from the AHL.

Pickard starts Tuesday vs the Sharks.

Pickard allowed two goals on 21 shots in Colorado’s loss in Columbus on January 16th. Semyon Varlamov started the last four games, but will get the night off in San Jose. Pickard is 2-1-0 with a 2.40 GAA and .922 SV% this season and faces a Sharks team that has won seven of their last nine games.

Pickard stopped all 27 shots that he faced in Colorado’s 3-0 shutout win over the Devils. Pickard has posted a 2.50 GAA and .925 SV% in six games this season and tonight he will make a second straight start. He draws a superb spot-start matchup against a Blue Jackets team that has lost four of their last five games.

Pickard allowed two goals on 15 shots after replacing Semyon Varlamov in Colorado’s loss in Chicago on Sunday. It will be his first start since December 28th when he made 35 saves in a win vs. the Sharks. The 23-year-old netminder comes into play with a career 2.51 GAA and .927 SV% and draws a nice matchup vs. a banged up Devils squad.

On Monday, Pickard will make his first NHL start of the season. He has made two relief appearances, stopping 21 of 25 shots (.840 SV%) that he has faced. In his time with the San Antonio Rampage (AHL), he was 9-8-4 with a 2.75 GAA and .917 SV%. He draws a fairly good matchup against a Sharks team that is 26th in the NHL in goals on home ice (2.23 G/PG).

With Semyon Varlamov out with a groin injury, Pickard will start his 13th game of the season for the Avalanche. He has gone 6-6-3 with a 2.18 GAA and .936 SV% with Colorado. While in Lake Erie (AHL) he has posted a 15-12-5 record, 2.61 GAA and .915 SV%. He will take on a Kings team who have dropped four of six while averaging just 2.00 goals per game.

The Avalanche have recalled Calvin Pickard from Lake Erie (AHL).

Colorado’s starter Semyon Varlamov was injured late in Sunday’s game, so they have recalled Pickard as a precaution for Tuesday’s game. Varlamov will take part in the morning skate and then the Avs will make a decision whether he will play or not. If he can’t, expect Pickard to get the call over Reto Berra. Pickard has gone 6-6-3 with a 2.18 GAA and .936 SV% with the Avalanche this season.

Pickard allowed four goals on 32 shots in a loss to the Blackhawks on December 27th before being sent back to Lake Erie. He is back with the Avalanche 17 days later and will get the nod vs. Carolina tonight. Pickard has gone 6-6-2 with a 2.21 GAA and .934 SV% this season—he stopped all 17 shots he faced after replacing Semyon Varlamov in his first appearance vs. the Hurricanes.

Pickard allowed one goal on 35 shots in the Avalanche’s shootout win over the Red Wings last Sunday. He has won three of his last six starts while posting a 1.61 GAA and .955 SV%. He continues to force the Avs to keep him with the big-club and a few more strong performances could land him a permanent spot.

Pickard stopped 28 of 29 shots in the Avs’ 5-1 win over the Sabres last night. Head coach Patrick Roy made the decision at the start of the week to start Pickard in all three games this week—after two games, it looks like it was a great plan. He has stopped 75 of 77 shots (.974) and gone 1-0-1. Tonight he faces a Red Wings team who have averaged just 1.00 goals per game on a six-game losing skid.

Pickard stoop 47 of 48 shots in the Avs’ 1-0 OT loss to the Penguins on Thursday. Once again, Pickard was sensational, but did not walk away with the W. Since being recalled this time around, he is 1-1-2 with a 1.94 GAA and .949 SV%. Tonight he should make for a great start in Buffalo—he has posted a .941 SV% in four road games.
