Price stopped 43 of 45 shots in the Canadiens’ 3-2 shooting win in Buffalo on Thursday. It was an outstanding start to the season for one of the league’s top netminders. He gets the nod again tonight as the Canadiens continue their road-trip in Washington—he was 1-2-0 with a 2.69 GAA and .911 SV% in three starts vs. the Capitals.
Price missed most of 2015-16 with an injury but returned last year to finish tied for fifth in the NHL in wins (37), tied for sixth in GAA (2.23) and tied for seventh in SV% (.923). Price is one of the steadiest fantasy options and arguably the best goaltender in the world, but the Canadiens have some questions up front and on the blueline which could limit his upside this season. Regardless, he is a must-start whenever he gets the call and has a pretty solid matchup tonight in Buffalo.
Price stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Stars on Tuesday. Price has won four of his last five starts while posting a 1.77 GAA and .938 SV%. Price has recorded his 35th win for the third time in 10 seasons. In his first start against the Panthers, Price gave up four goals on 24 shots in a 4-3 OT loss.
Price allowed one goal on 32 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Senators on Saturday. Al Montoya was expected to start tonight, but he suffered a lower-body injury in the morning skate, so Price will go tonight vs. Dallas. Price is an impressive 7-2-0 with a 1.65 GAA and .939 SV% in March.
Price stopped 30 of 31 shots in the Canadiens’ win over the Senators on Sunday. Al Montoya gave him the night off yesterday, so Price will get the nod tonight, despite being listed as questionable. Price has been impressive, going 6-1-0 with a 1.55 GAA and .942 SV% in seven March starts. He is a must-start tonight.
Head coach Claude Julien said that Price “was not at 100 percent today” and listed him as questionable for Thursday’s game. Al Montoya started the Canadiens’ overtime loss to the Red Wings last night, so Price was expected to start on Thursday, but it sounds like he could miss the game with a “very minor” injury. Monitor his status during tomorrow's morning skate.
Price allowed one goal on 25 shots in the Canadiens’ win in Edmonton on Sunday. Price extended his winning streak to six games while posting a 0.99 GAA, .964 SV% and one shutout in the process. Tonight he’ll take on the Blackhawks on home-ice—he is 19-8-3 with a 2.07 GAA and .931 SV% at the Bell Centre.
