Soucy missed the last two games with an illness but will replace Brad Hunt and skate with Greg Pateryn tonight vs. the Avalanche. Soucy has 12 points (6G / 6A) and a plus-15 rating in 49 games this season.
Soucy will be replaced by Greg Pateryn if he can't play but monitor his status when the Wild hit the ice for warmups at 7:30 PM ET.
Soucy improved on his first AHL season, posting 20 points (5G / 15A) in 66 games with Iowa. The 6-foot-5, 208 lbs. defenseman has the kind of size that the Wild’s blueline lacks but he likely sits eighth on the depth chart at the moment, so look for him to remain in Iowa to start 2020.
Soucy spent the majority of the 2017-18 season in the AHL, where he amassed 15 points (1G / 14A) in 67 games, but he also appeared in three games with Minnesota. With Ryan Suter definitely out to start the playoffs and Jared Spurgeon a big question mark, Soucy has been recalled and is expected to open the playoffs on the Wild’s second pairings.
Soucy, 23, was a fifth round pick in 2013 and has picked up 15 points (1G / 14A) in 67 games in his first full pro season in Iowa. Soucy has been recalled because Ryan Suter is out indefinitely with a fractured fibula.
