Hart was basically unbeatable his last time out stopping 31 of 32 shots in a 3-1 victory over Nashville. If the Vezina were to be presented today, Hart would have a hard time not winning it as he ranks fourth in SV% (.949) and fifth in GAA (1.75) while still yet to lose a game through four starts (4-0-0). He faces Florida at home who lost their last game 4-2 against Chicago on Tuesday and should see their fortunes change as they are 7th in SOG (34.9) but 21st in league goals (3.0).
Carter Hart will look to keep his undefeated record intact as he leads the surprising 2-0-0 Philadelphia Flyers into Tampa Bay to take on the Lightning. Hart has made 28 or more stops in each of his victories while allowing no less than two goals. Tampa has struggled to find the net in their first three games, surpassing two goals only once so far this season in their only win.
Hart will get the start for the 1-0-0 Flyers Saturday against the Canucks in Philadelphia. The five-year veteran was a monster in the Flyers' opening-night win against New Jersey Thursday, stopping 35 of 37 shots (.946 SV%) on way to the easy 5-2 victory.
Hart will get the Flyers' first start of the season under new head coach John Tortorella. The Flyers' netminder will be looking to achieve an SV% above .905% for the first time in three seasons as he enters 2021-22. The 24-year-old has struggled for the last two seasons, averaging a nearly 3.30 GAA average across 69 starts during that time.
Hart has been battling a lower-body injury and has yet to appear in a pre-season game. Hart said he's hopeful that he'll be able to play in one of the final preseason games but that he and the team are being extra cautious to make sure he's 100 percent for the start of the season.
Hart left Tuesday's game with a lower-body injury after surrendering three goals on the first 10 shots that he faced. Martin Jones, who did not fare any better against the Capitals, will likely start Wednesday with Hart unavailable.
Hart was originally expected to start Tuesday in Minnesota but is not available due to a nagging injury. Felix Sandström will come up from the AHL to serve as the backup. Hart is expected to be good to go by this weekend when the Flyers return home to play the Maple Leafs.
