Chris Tanev News
Tanev (face) will return to the Canucks lineup on Friday.

Tanev missed the last two games after taking a puck to the mouth in Toronto last Saturday. Tanev has missed a lot of time due to injuries this season but provides a big boost to the Canucks blueline when he’s in. However, he doesn’t boast the best offensive numbers, having scoring just two goals with four assist in 27 games this season.

Tanev (mouth) will not play Tuesday in Washington.

Tanev will miss his second straight game after being hit in the face by a shot in Saturday’s game in Toronto. Tanev did however skate this morning with a full cage on, so he might be ready for Friday’s game in Columbus.

Tanev (groin) will return to the Canucks lineup on Tuesday.

Tanev has missed the last seven games with a groin issue, but will replace Ben Hutton in the lineup vs. Anaheim. Tanev has just six points (2G / 4A) in 25 games this season but does a lot for the Canucks blueline while eating up over 20 minutes a night.

Tanev (thumb) will not require surgery; expected to miss 2-3 weeks.

Tanev suffered a thumb injury in Calgary on Wednesday and is expected to miss at least 14 days as a result, but avoided surgery and a much longer timetable. Luckily for the Canucks they got Alex Edler back on the blueline last night.

Tanev (mumps) is hopeful that he will play on Tuesday.

Tanev missed Saturday’s game vs. the Sharks because of the mumps, but was on the ice for Monday’s practice and is expected to play Tuesday vs. the Red Wings. Tanev is a key member of the Canucks’ blueline, but isn’t an offensive threat—he has just six points (1G / 5A) in 36 games this season.

Tanev (upper-body) will travel on the Canucks’ two-game road trip.

Tanev missed Saturday’s game in Calgary with an upper-body injury that he suffered on Friday. Tanev will travel to Nashville for Tuesday’s game and the Canucks hope he can play after using just five defensemen on Saturday.
