Ceci has missed the last four games with an upper-body injury, but will replace Ben Harpur in Colorado. Ceci had no points, a minus-4 rating and six shots on goal in his first four games of the season.

Ceci likely suffered the upper-body injury vs. the Flyers on Wednesday. Ceci played a season-low 19:33 TOI vs. the Flyers, suggesting he left the game in the third period. With Ceci out, Christian Jaros has been recalled from Belleville (AHL).

The Senators called Ceci questionable on Monday but he put the question marks aside when he took part in this morning’s gameday skate. Ceci has been held pointless in seven straight games and has just eight points (5G / 3A) in 40 games this season.

The Senators re-signed Cody Ceci to a two-year deal worth $5.6 million ($2.8M AAV).

Ceci, 22, had his best offensive season of his young career in 2015-16, collecting 10 goals and 16 assists (26 points) in 75 games. The former 15th overall pick has 56 career points (18G / 38A) in his first 205 NHL games. Ceci will spend the 2016-17 season on the Senators’ second pairing behind Erik Karlsson.

Ceci missed Saturday’s game due to a lower-body ailment, but he will return to the lineup tonight in Nashville. Cecil will replace Chris Wideman in the lineup. He comes in with two goals in 13 games.

Ceci was hit by a Shea Weber shot on Monday and left the game right away. He tweeted after the game that he only suffered a cut and was shaken, but is OK. The Senators don't play until Saturday, so monitor Ceci's status throughout the week.
