With Matt Duchene now with Columbus and Mark Stone and Ryan Dzingel scratched, the Senators are going to have a hard time winning tonight.

Anderson suffered a concussion in New Jersey on December 21st and will miss at least the next two games after the Christmas break. With Anderson out, Mike McKenna will serve as the Senators No.1 netminder moving forward.

Anderson was forced to leave Friday’s game in New Jersey and will not be available for Saturday’s game. The Senators will likely re-evaluate Anderson over the break and provide a detailed update in the coming days. Mike McKenna will start and Marcus Hogberg has been called up to backup while Anderson is out.

Anderson allowed four goals on 42 shots in the Senators loss to Montreal on Thursday. Anderson lost both games to the Senators this week, allowing a combined nine goals on 83 shots (.892 SV%). In his first start against the Penguins, Anderson allowed four goals on 35 shots in a 6-4 win.

Anderson surrendered five goals on 41 shots in the Senators loss in Montreal on Tuesday. Anderson will go again tonight in the second game of a home-and-home with the Canadiens. Home-ice has been a lot more friendly to Anderson, who is 9-4-2 with a 3.18 GAA, .916 SV% and one shutout at the Canadian Tire Centre. He is also 1-1-0 with a 3.93 GAA and .882 SV% vs. Montreal this year.

Anderson gave up two goals on 38 shots in the Senators win over the Sharks on Saturday. Anderson had a nice week, winning his last two starts while stopping 63 of 65 shots (.969 SV%). He also won his first start against the Canadiens, stopping 27 of 27 shots in a 4-3 OT victory on October 20th.
