Clarkson reportedly looked extremely good skating before practice which is a positive sign for the Maple Leafs forward who did not play on Tuesday. Skating today suggests that he will be good to go tomorrow vs. the Hurricanes, barring any unforeseen setbacks. Offensively, Clarkson's first season in Toronto has been a major disappointment. He has eight points (3G / 5A) in 31 games.

Clarkson's absence at Leafs' practice makes his status for Tuesday's game cloudy. If he is able to participate in tomorrow's morning skate, then there is a good chance that he will play. Monitor his status Tuesday morning.

David Clarkson is expected to make his Toronto debut after serving a 10-game suspension to start the season.

Clarkson was involved in a preseason incident in which he left the Leafs bench to join a fight against the Buffalo Sabres. A native of suburban Toronto, Clarkson signed a huge seven-year contract with the Leafs this summer and was one of the most sought-after free agents. His addition to a Leafs team that's already playing well should be a significant boost.

David Clarkson will play tonight and will play the remaining preseason games for the Maple Leafs because his suspension does not begin until the regular season.

Toronto head coach Randy Carlyle says they feel it's best to play Clarkson as many games as possible in preseason given the time he will miss.

After scoring 30 goals in 2011-12, David Clarkson only potted 15 in 48 games this season. The 6-foot-1-inch, 200 pound forward brings a physical style of play and solid net-front presence. His size along with the addition of Dave Bolland will open up the ice for the smaller Maple Leafs like Phil Kessel and Nazem Kadri.
