"Clarkie is one of a handful of guys in the league-- and there are not many of them-- that can play in your top nine, is heavyweight tough and is capable of scoring 20 goals. Those guys are hard to find. So there is a lot to like," DeBoer said.

Clarkson's new (and former) coach has a point as Clarkson is capable of 20 goals and 150 PIM. Grab him if your team is hurting in PIM.

Iyla Kovalchuk, left, Jacob Josefson middle, and David Clarkson have skated together as a line for the first two days of Devils’ training camp.

Clarkson, who seemed poised for a breakout campaign last season, regressed offensively while playing mostly on the fourth line. If he plays consistently on the second line, he could pot 20 goals and rack up over 100 PIM.
