Schlemko suffered an upper-body injury on Saturday night and is questionable for tonight’s game vs. the Kings. With Marc-Edouard Vlasic out and Schlemko questionable, Mirco Mueller has been recalled and could make his season debut on Tuesday.
Schlemko has been a healthy scratch for the last three games, but will be back in the lineup for Dylan DeMelo tonight vs. the Flyers. Schlemko has registered eight points (1G / 7A) in 28 games this season and will return to his usual spot on the third pairing and second power play unit.
Schlemko appeared in the last four games, collecting one goal and two assists. Tonight he will be replaced by Dylan DeMelo in what Peter DeBoer is calling a “coaches decision.”

Schlemko, 29, has turned into one of the NHL’s most underrated and under-appreciated defensemen, but the Sharks finally showed him some love, signing him to a four-year deal worth $2.1 million annually. He is coming off of a six goals and 13 assists (19 points) in 67 games with the Devils.
