Gambrell (concussion) is expected to return to the Sharks lineup on Saturday.

Gambrell missed one game with a concussion because a few got cancelled due to COVID-19 protocol but he's expected to be back Saturday vs. the Blues. Gambrell would replace Tomas Hertl, who is the one on the COVID-19 list. He has just two assists in 13 games this season.

Gambrell was a healthy scratch in the first three games of the season but will centre the Sharks third line as head coach Bob Boughner searches for more production from his bottom-6. It's unclear who Gambrell will replace but he enters the lineup after having 11 points (5G / 6A) in 50 games a season ago.

Gambrell will miss at least two games with an upper-body injury.

Gambrell suffered an upper-body injury in Boston on Tuesday and will not play in the Sharks' Friday/Saturday back-to-back. Gambrell, who has four points (1G / 3A) in 12 games, will be replaced by Jonny Brodzinski on Friday.

The Sharks have assigned Gambrell to AHL to clear a roster spot for Michael Haley, who was claimed off of waivers from the Panthers. The 22-year-old returns to the AHL, where h has 11 goals and 19 assists (30 points) in 32 games this season.

The Sharks have reassigned Dylan Gambrell to San Jose (AHL).

Gambrell had two goals and one assist in his season debut with the Barracuda before being called-up following Joe Thornton’s move to IR. With the Sharks off until Thursday, Gambrell could just head down to get some AHL games and return before their meeting with the Sabres.
