Gardiner was a healthy scratch in each of the Maple Leafs last three games. He will enter the lineup tonight in favor of Mike Kostka. He has two assists in seven games this season.

Gardiner spent the full season with the Leafs and was named to the NHL’s all-rookie team a year ago, pulling off the rare feat of scoring 30 points from the back end in his first full year as a pro. Since being returned to the Marlies in late January, however, Gardiner has 14 points in 21 games in the AHL and overall is 12th in league scoring for defencemen despite missing 18 games.

It appears as if #FreeJakeGardiner has worked as the young defenseman has been recalled to the Toronto Maple Leafs. It remains to be seen if he will be in the lineup tomorrow or not.

This isn't surprising as it was speculated that the only reason he was called up was to keep him on the ice while the Marlies were on the AHL All-Star break.

Gardiner was sent down last week but then called up during the AHL Allstar break. He will be a game-time decision. Monitor his status before game time.

With the AHL in the middle of their All-Star break this could just be to keep Gardiner on the ice. Of course that remains to be seen, keep an eye on Gardiner's status in the next couple of days.

Gardiner played 20+ minutes last night and finished a -1. Obviously the Maple Leafs coaching staff thought that Gardiner needs some more time to get back into playing shape after the concussion he suffered in December.

Gardiner will make his season debut tonight. It will be the first time Gardiner will have played since suffering a concussion in the AHL on December 8.

Gardiner would have to come back and score before he would be worth a fantasy add.

Gardiner is still young but could grow into a decent fantasy D-man. He had 17 points in 22 games in the AHL before he got hurt. Monitor his return, if he starts to produce he may be worth an add.

Gardiner is still not skating with his teammates but this is a positive sign that he is on his way back for people who have drafted him.

This is the first time Gardiner has skated since DEC 8. He's looking to take the next step in the NHL after scoring 30 pts in 75 games. Could be an okay fantasy option this year when he is healthy.

Gardiner is still dealing with post-concussion symptoms.

The talented rookie now has five goals and 26 points through 68 games.

Gardiner is still expected to play tomorrow.

Look for the rookie to get back into the lineup tomorrow against the Sens. The rookie registered 10 assists in 37 games.

Gardiner needed to play so he briefly was sent to the Marlies. No word on whether the rookie reenters the lineup.

There's expectation that Gardiner won't be down for long but even so, he's a fringe fantasy player when he's playing.
