Tinordi failed to pick up a point in any of his three games played so far this season and will be a healthy scratch Monday as Chicago takes on Toronto. The 31-year-old defenseman is in his ninth NHL season after playing a career-high 44 games with Chicago in 2022-23. He will be replaced by Nikita Zaitsev in the Blackhawks lineup Monday.

It is the first team the 31-year-old has stuck with, as he has played for six teams in the last seven seasons.

Tinordi has missed the Blackhawks' previous three games due to a hip injury but will draw back into Chicago's lineup Tuesday vs. Calgary. The 31-year-old defenseman has two goals, six assists, 31 SOG, 38 PIMs and a -13 plus/minus through 42 games played before the injury.

Tinordi left the Blackhawks' previous game vs. Montreal after just 3:03 TOI due to a lower-body injury and has been placed on the injured reserve Wednesday. The 30-year-old has two goals, three assists, 17 SOG, 20 PIMs, and a -6 plus/minus through 27 games prior to the injury.

Tinordi will miss an undisclosed amount of time after taking a snapshot to the face in Chicago's previous contest. The 30 year-old was on pace to complete his most amount of games in a season as he has never surpassed 28 games played, and was already at 25 with two goals and five points throughout.

Tinordi has been out since Nov.25th due to a hip injury and was placed on the injured reserve Thursday. The veteran defenseman was having a career season as he had two goals, and three assists with 15 PIMs in 20 games prior to the injury which is already career-highs in goals and points.

The Blackhawks have claimed Jarred Tinordi off of waivers from the Rangers.

Tinordi was with the Rangers last season but only appeared in seven NHL games, spending most of the year in the AHL (32 GP). The 30-year-old defenseman will provide some toughness and depth to the Blackhawks' blueline, but he likely won't have a regular role early in the season.
