Hurricanes head coach Kirk Muller said yesterday that Skinner is still a couple of weeks away. However, practicing on Friday would be a positive step in his recovery and he could potentially return sooner than two weeks if all goes well.
Skinner has missed seven games with an upper-body injury and will be out until late November.
Skinner will miss his sixth straight game tonight and if he misses two weeks, he will miss Carolina's next seven games as well.

He skated with a non-contact jersey today at practice, however the practice was only seven minutes long. There is no timetable for Skinner's return so monitor his status after the weekend
