John Gibson News
John Gibson was the first goalie off the ice at Anaheims' morning skate.

Gibson lost his previous two starts to the St.Louis Blues and is in the middle of a three game losing streak that has added to his NHL lead in losses as he holds a 3-11-1 record. He has struggled as shown by his 4.15 GAA and .891 SV% through 15 games played. He will hope to get back in the win column as he takes on the New York Rangers who has won three of their last four games.

Gibson will start Monday in St. Louis.

Gibson allowed five goals on 29 shots (.828 SV%) his last time out as the Ducks lost to St. Louis on the road. The 29-year-old has had a dreadful season so far, leading all goaltenders in losses with his 3-10-1 record while posting a .889 SV% and 4.31 GAA. He takes on the streaky St. Louis Blues who are in the middle of a five-game winning streak after beating this same Ducks' team their last time out.

Gibson will start Thursday in Boston.

Gibson and the Anaheim defence have struggled mightily in his three starts as his 5.96 GAA is second last in the NHL supported by his low .872 SV%. The Ducks head to Boston to take on a 3-1-0 Bruins team coming off their first loss Tuesday in a 7-5 battle with the Ottawa Senators. Even without superstar Brad Marchand the Bruins are averaging 5.25 GF/G through their first four.

Gibson will start on Long Island on Saturday.

Gibson enters Saturday's matchup against the New York Islanders 1-0-0 after an incredible opening night performance by the 10-year-veteran. The Ducks workhorse stood true to his title stopping 44 of 48 shots in Anaheim's 5-4 opening night overtime win against Seattle Wednesday. He will hope to face less action in his second start after finishing 2021-22 with the seventh most Shots Against (1789) throughout the NHL.

Gibson led the Anaheim Ducks out for warm-ups for their season opener

Gibson enters his 10th NHL season as the starter against the Seattle Kraken Wednesday night. The 29-year-old has failed to achieve a better than .904 SV% in any of his previous three seasons while only finishing below a 3.00 GAA only once in those three years. He will look to add a win in the stat column right out of the gate as the veteran struggled to come by them a season ago (18 wins in 56 GS).

Gibson left Saturday's preseason game with an upper-body injury.

Gibson stopped 16 of 19 shots in the first period but was replaced by Anthony Stolarz for the start of the second period. The Ducks announced that Gibson was dealing with an upper-body injury. It's unclear if it was precautionary or if he's in danger of missing the season opener vs. Seattle on Wednesday.
